+===== Question =====
 +
 +
 +
 +How do I configure the SSLIP to run as a service?
 +
 +
 +
 +===== Answer =====
 +
 +
 +
 +The SSLIP can not be configured to run as a service. The SSLIP is a windows application that can only be run as an application. The SSLIP was not designed to run as a service on Windows. In order for users to successfully access Cyrious the SSLIP must be running at all times.
 +
 +
 +
 +By default, the SSLIP application will run automatically upon logon to Windows. A shortcut for the SSLIP Application is placed in the Startup folder for the user which initially installed Cyrious. When that user account initiates a logon the SSLIP application is launched since it is part of the Startup folder. It is recommended that you run the SSLIP from the console session of the computer.

 +===== Automatic Logon Solution =====
 +
 +
 +
 +Windows supports the ability to turn on automatic logon in Windows. This feature is available through modifying the registry and is discussed in more detail within the Microsoft knowledge-base article titled How to turn on automatic logon in Windows, click the link to view that article.

 +===== Terminal Services Users =====
 +
 +
 +
 +For Terminal Services users, it is recommended you launch the SSLIP application from the console session. If you do not have console access to the server you can still connect to the console session using the Remote Desktop connection switch **/console**. For more information on connecting to the console session please visit the Microsoft knowledge-base article titled How to Connect to and Shadow the Console Session with Windows Server 2003 Terminal Services.
 +
 +
 +
 +If you must launch the SSLIP application from a remote session it is recommended you modify your terminal services session settings to __never logoff the user when the session idle limit is reached__. If the session is reset or logged off the SSLIP will be automatically shutdown and all users will lose access to Cyrious and any work they did not save. More information on Terminal Services session limits can be found at Microsoft's Windows Server TechNet website.
