Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

This error occurs when the user authentication type being used by a network computer to access a network share on another computer has not been granted specific permission to authenticate. This is a windows security policy and permissions problem and is not directly related to anything within Cyrious however this error will result in your inability to access the files needed to operate Cyrious for the computer you intend to operate as a client computer.

Normal

  • The guest account is not enabled in Group Policy.
  • The guest account configured to be denied access from the network.
    • To enable this policy, click on Start | Run | and type in GPEdit.msc and press Enter.
    • Navigate to Local Computer Policy | Computer Configuration | Windows Settings | Security Settings | Local Policies | Security Options
    • Locate the policy Accounts: Guest account status and double click to open the properties window.
    • Set this policy to Enabled.

    • Locate the policy Accounts: Guest account status and double click to open the properties window.
    • Set this policy to Enabled.

  • Ensure the guest account is not denied access from the network.
    • To enable this policy, click on Start | Run | and type in GPEdit.msc and press Enter.
    • Navigate to Local Computer Policy | Computer Configuration | Windows Settings | Security Settings | Local Policies | User Rights Assignment
    • Locate the policy Deny access to this computer from the network and double click to open the properties window.
    • Remove the guest account from this policy if present.
