Explanation

This article covers the steps a Cyrious Tech would take to upgrade to Control 5.1 or 5.5 from 4.6.

  1. - Download 5.1 updater from cyrioussoftware.com (Save the file. Don't run it.)
  2. - Determine what version to download (SQL ver, 32bit, 64bit, etc.)
  3. - Stop the SSLIP
  4. - Launch SQL and back up the database.
  5. - Re-start SQL
  6. - Run upgrade as administrator
  7. - Choose Update Server
  8. - Click Install
  9. - Get License Key from Company Record in Control.
  10. - Click OK
  11. - Accept the License Terms. Click Next
  12. - Enter a User Name and Company (whatever is appropriate) Click Next
  13. - Verify the location of the existing Control installation. Click next.
  14. - Click Next until Finished.
  15. - Click Finish.
  16. - Delete all shortcuts for the SSLIP.
  17. - Replace shortcut on Desktop for new SSLIP
  18. - Replace startup menu shortcut for new SSLIP
  19. - Check old SSLIP_options file (if one exists) to see if any options need to be transferred to the Control_Options file.
  20. - Launch SSLIP
  21. - Launch Control

Test upgrade

- Edit and save an order

- Preview a Estimate and a Invoice.

- Test the Avalara connection (ping test in setup) (if applicable)
