This page will give you instructions on how to create a recurring order in Control, and trigger it using the report feature.

Concept

A recurring order is an order that has been converted or saved to repeat itself in a set pattern until a defined end date (non-inclusive, see warning below).

Cautions

Warning: When setting the end date for the order, keep in mind that the report will not generate an order when run on that day. For example, if you have a service contract that is ordered on the 1st of every month, the end date should be set as the 2nd of the last month.

Steps

Setting up the Report to trigger the recurring order.

  1. Go to setup > Reporting Setup
  2. Click Reports on Main Menu > User Reports
  3. The next step can be performed one of two ways: First, you could clone one of the existing Reoccurring reports such as 28 days, and then rename it and set the Recurrence type. Second, you could click Add>New Action, and then fill out the information. If you choose the second option, make sure the Action is set as “Create Recurring Order(s).”
  4. Save.

Creating the Recurring Order Option #1: Creating from preexisting order.

  1. Open the Order Explorer and locate the order you wish to make recurring.
  2. Right click and scroll down to Order Options
  3. Click Make Recurring
  4. Select the Recurrence Frequency, and if you choose, the Recurring Start and End dates.
  5. Click OK
  6. The new recurring order will now appear in the Recurring Order Explorer. Remember to create a report to trigger whatever frequency you set the order as.

Creating the Recurring Order Option #2: Creating a new Order.

  1. Open a new order. Add the line items that you wish to have repeated for every order.
  2. Click Save, save as Recurring Order.
  3. Click Edit, select the tab Recurrence.
  4. Set the Recurrence Frequency and the Start and End dates.
  5. Click Save. The new recurring order will now appear in the Recurring Order Explorer. Remember to create a report to trigger whatever frequency you set the order as.
