SMS Install HASP Drivers

1. If necessary, download new drivers from Aladdin HASP4 Drivers. Download the file to C:\Program Files\Cyrious\Common\HASP.

Note for Cyrious Techs: For SMS 2000 use HASP drivers located in …\RunImage\SMS\Common Files\HASP

1. Go to Start
2. Click on Run
3. Type in cmd.exe
4. Type in cd C:\Program Files\Cyrious\Common\HASP
5. Type in Hinstall.exe -i
   • You should receive a message stating the installation was successful.
6. Try starting the SSLIP.

A security dongle (aka security key) is required to successfully run Cyrious. The security dongle contains the licensing rights to operate the software. It is required to be on the main computer that houses the server installation of Cyrious. If it is removed at anytime the ability to operate Cyrious will cease. If you are upgrading computers or having maintenance performed on your computer it is very important that you take possession of that security key and store it in a safe place before giving your computer to anyone. If the security dongle is lost or stolen the cost to replace the dongle is substantial.

There are two types of security dongles that Cyrious have used which are listed below.

Parallel Port Security Dongle

• Benefits: Very rigid design, resists physical damage fairly well. The pins on the male side are nearly the only weak point on the security dongle. Larger design makes it a bit harder to misplace.
• Cons: The parallel port design is becoming outdated, newer budget line systems are no longer coming equipped with parallel ports so keep this in mind when upgrading your computer. However, business line systems and servers still do come equipped with parallel ports. If your new computer does not have a parallel port you can purchase a USB security key upgrade from Cyrious. Please contact Cyrious for additional details.

USB Port Security Dongle

• Benefits: Universally accepted by any computer system with USB ports.
• Cons: Small design which can be easily misplaced. Less rigid structure than parallel port security dongle, it is susceptible to physical damage if you bump it against something or perhaps kick the dongle if you have it installed in the front ports. Cyrious recommends installing it in the rear of the computer to reduce the likelihood that it will be physically damaged by someone. If the security dongle is physically damaged and stops functioning you can purchase a replacement dongle by contacting Cyrious Technical Support.
