There are three methods of installing Control on a client PC. In order of easiest to most difficult:

  2. Go to Tech Support > Downloads
  3. Download the Cyrious Launcher and run it
  1. Log into cyrioussoftware.com on the client PC
  2. Go to Tech Support > Downloads
  3. Download the Control Client Installer and run it
  4. When prompted for the path to the Cyrious$ share, put in \\server_name\cyrious$
  5. This should put a Control shortcut on the desktop and install Crystal Reports drivers
  1. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to \\server_name\cyrious$
  2. Go into the Control folder
  3. Right-click Control.exe and choose Send to > Desktop (create shortcut)
  4. Rename the desktop shortcut to 'Cyrious Control'
  5. Download and install the Crystal Reports XI Installation and BarCode Support Installer from the downloads page at cyrioussoftware.com
  • If Password Protected Sharing is enabled on the server, this will cause problems with all 3 of the above methods. Only using method 3 (manual install) will clue you in to this being the problem. If methods 1 and 2 are not working, try navigating to the Cyrious$ share on the server (\\server_name\cyrious$) using Windows Explorer. If you get prompted for a network login, you must disable Password-protected sharing on the server. On the server, go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change Advanced Sharing Settings. Locate 'Password Protected Sharing' and turn it off.

This step involves installing Crystal Reports XI DLL's. These DLL files are required in order to access the various report files included with Control.

  1. Run the installer, follow the on-screen steps to complete the installation.

This step involves installing Bar Code Fonts & DLL's. These DLL files are required in order to access some report templates that have embedded barcode fonts.
