Possible Root Cause(s)
- Crystal Reports DLL's are not installed or may be corrupt.
- Crystal Reports DLL's from another software package are conflicting with the Crystal Reports DLL's for Cyrious.
- Non-standard fonts on the report.
- A Windows 7 Update (KB3102429) released 11-17-2015 intending to add foreign currency symbols had a side-effect of causing this issue to arise.
Resolution
- Re-install the Crystal Reports XI DLL's for Control.
- Un-install any conflicting software that is responsible for creating PDF's. There is a known issue with Acrobat 8 Professional potentially causing this problem to occur in some cases.
- Check the Crystal Report for non-standard fonts, if you have a special font that you're using it may not be supported by the PDF. As a quick test, backup your report and highlight every field on the report and change the fonts to a standard font such as Arial, MS Sans Serif, Times New Roman, etc.
- Login to CyriousSoftware.com and download/install the Arial Fonts file from the Control Reporting Downloads section
